Despite having only 4,000 residents Isafjordur is the hub of the Westfjords. Featuring cultural events all year-round, Isafjordur is a dynamic, bohemian community.
A neat and tidy town, it’s centre boasts a pleasant atmosphere with a suprisingly big-town ambiance. Well suited for exploration on foot, Isafjordur is home to some of the oldest houses in Iceland dating from the 1700s, a fascinating Maritime Museum and a good selection of cafés, restaurants and shops offering original gifts and souvenirs.

A port call that offers good tour options for both expedition vessels and medium sized cruise vessels. Larger ships can also be accomodated, but additional time might well be needed in port to ensure shorex capacitites remain true. We strongly recommend contacting csi@csi.is to check on potential clashes as this will almost certainly affect tour capacities on the day.
